We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Group Management Reporting Accountant to join our Finance team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

Working in the management reporting team, you’ll drive delivery of all internal management reporting and analysis around the Group, ensuring timely reporting to finance leadership, boards and committees with appropriate commentary.

Preparing monthly management accounts for profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flows, you’ll investigate reconciliation deficiencies, ensuring appropriate escalation and business engagement is achieved.
 
With great leadership skills and ability to motivate employees in a high pressurised environment, together with excellent problem-solving skills, you’ll:
  • Be a qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent), newly qualified accountants will be considered
  • Have good time management and organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Possess an inquisitive mind and be able to identify anomalies or inconsistencies and pursue these through to a resolution
 
 
Job responsibilities
  • Supporting the monthly Group ExCo reporting cycle to ensure it’s well managed, with clear timetables and monitoring of deliverables
  • Leading the creation of the monthly key metrics for ExCo and board reporting ensuring accuracy of inputs and insightful commentary working with finance business partnership team
  • Producing high quality and insightful variance analysis and commentary for presentation to Directors, Senior Management and Board
  • Providing appropriate challenge and support to the finance business partnership team in order to deliver group forecasts and projections which are challenging yet achievable
  • Supporting on all finance-related board and committee actions, ensuring suitable Finance team members provide responses on a timely basis
  • Assisting the Group auditors and Financial Reporting team on queries to ensure that the year-end audit process runs smoothly
  • Accountable for monthly cash dashboard reporting ensuring the cash projections are robust and deliver with high accurate on a timely basis
  • Continuous improvement of existing financial planning processes to satisfy business requirements and support commercial decision making
  • Own the production of financial benchmarking data and First Central’s performance versus the market, including analysis of six month/annual competitor results announcements
 
Skills, knowledge & experience
  • Experience within an insurance or financial services company is preferable
  • Experience in management reporting to board level
  • Able to articulate complex matters from junior to board level in an insightful way
  • Commercially focused and willing to challenge information
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with an organised and proactive approach
  • Taking responsibility for tasks and seeing them through to completion with great attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Embraces opportunities to develop and learn - showing a great level of self-awareness and drive
