We’re on the hunt for a talented Programme Manager to join our Business Services team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.
You’ll be accountable for the transactional delivery of change programmes consisting of inter-related projects and initiatives that are linked by common strategic objectives, and/or high-profile key strategic projects requiring immediate and rapid attention.
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:
Have deep and extensive understanding of project and programme management processes and the keys to successful delivery
Have previous experience of working on Product / Customer Experience programmes
Have the ability and confidence to constructively challenge, win the respect of and negotiate effectively with senior management up to and including Executive Committee level
Have experience in and the ability to estimate and budget effectively, in conjunction with Finance and business leaders
Establish and maintain a roadmap of change that delivers strategic goals and financial/non-financial benefits of the given programme(s) of work
Own and control the budget and business case for the programme(s) of projects under the role holder’s control
Maintain momentum and direction, delivering to the agreed scope, timeframe and budget with resource planning and accurate estimation treated as fundamental principles
Partner, and where appropriate constructively challenge, business leaders up to and including ExCo level to maximise the successful delivery of the programme(s)
Where appropriate, lead relationships with key external 3rd party suppliers ensuring delivery to time, quality and budget
Act as a creative and insightful problem-solver in conjunction with the programme team(s) to resolve seemingly intractable issues
Ensure effective requirements, plans, reporting and stakeholder management processes are in place for all the projects comprising the programme(s) the role holder leads
Identify Programme risks, issues and dependencies ensuring effective mitigation is in place and under active management
Ensure that all mandatory regulatory, compliance and business/systems architectural requirements are complied with across the programme of work
Fully understand and plan for the business impact of change ensuring that all areas of the business are ready to accept the change
Skills, knowledge & experience
Formal Project and Programme Management qualifications such as APMP, PRINCE2, Agile Project Management or equivalent is desirable
Senior stakeholder management – ability to constructively challenge, win the respect of and negotiate effectively with senior management up to and including ExCo level
Strong communication skills – both in writing and verbally – ability to articulate an argument and persuade senior stakeholders with robust and comprehensive communication
Deep and extensive understanding of project and programme management processes and the keys to successful delivery
Effective planning and understanding the key components of all plans
Financial management – the ability to estimate and budget effectively, allowing for suitable contingency, and the ability to put together a robust and achievable business case in conjunction with Finance and business leaders
Ability not only to deliver programmes of change but to contribute to the capability development of the programmes & Change team and the change capability of the wider business
Strategic and benefits leadership – ensuring the focus is on delivery of the strategy, desired business outcomes and benefits
Leadership – the ability to look ahead and understand/mitigate risks, and the ability to see the few key issues in a situation, problem or delivery and – working with others – cut through to the solution
Role model and leader of people – ability to guide, steer and coach programme team members to enable them to deliver effectively and develop professionally
