We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Retail Finance Director to join our Finance Senior Leadership (SLT) team in Salford Quays, Manchester, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, or our offices in Guernsey. 
 
With responsibility for all aspects of the Retail Financial performance, including P&L, Balance Sheet, cash and capital, you’ll lead the Retail Finance team across Insurance and Broking/Trading, and engage across Boards, Committees and ExCo. Additionally, you’ll lead the Group Procurement and Supplier Management function, including Group Intercompany supplier quarterly review meetings and all/any regulatory procurement and supplier management activities and processes.

You’ll focus on First Central Insurance Management Limited (FCIM) and 1ST Central Law (ICL), delivering presentations of insightful analysis, results, financial strategy and other ad-hoc initiatives.
 
To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:
  • A financial qualification, such as ACCA/CIMA or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a regulated Finance Director in the insurance industry
  • Excellent planning skills and ability to deliver under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and to appropriate quality 
 
Job responsibilities
  • Regulatory and Corporate responsibility for FCIM and 1CL and other Committees as agreed
  • Oversight and responsibility of all internal management reporting related to the Business function, including quarterly board reporting for Group and Subsidiaries, and working collaboratively with Group FP&A
  • Oversight of Finance Business Partner for Retail, delivering financial analysis and decision support, including business modelling, endorsing CBAs, benefit tracking, and expenses analysis and management
  • Oversight for tracking and monitoring key Retail Financial Optics internally and externally
  • Ownership of regulatory solvency, capital management and regulatory returns e.g. RMAR
  • Provide appropriate level of oversight and control to the board of each subsidiary
  • Create and deliver presentations to Boards, Group Committees, ExCo and ExCo members
  • Drive process and systems improvements across all aspects of the role
  • Lead the Group Procurement function effectively ensuring the Procurement and Supplier Management frameworks are operated effectively across the Group
  • Lead and operate the Group Intercompany supplier quarterly review meetings
  • Responsible for all/any regulatory procurement and supplier management activities/processes
 
Skills, knowledge & experience
  • ACCA/CIMA qualification or equivalent
  • Demonstratable experience within the insurance industry, preferably Broking
  • Highly experienced at presenting, negotiating and influencing Regulators, Boards and Executives
  • Experienced in Corporate Finance activity preferably dealing with advisors, Private Equity, LSE or similar
  • Solid understanding of and ability to interpret the appropriate flows of money around an Insurance Group
  • Excellent knowledge of how to prepare accounts in line with accounting/financial/operational principles
  • Excellent knowledge of external Investor thinking and outlooks
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements (including SMCR and TCF)
