We’re on the hunt for a Senior Management Reporting Accountant to join our talented and growing Finance team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.

The successful candidate will be a clear, concise communicator and be able to understand issues quickly and make appropriate business decisions. 

You’ll lead a fantastic team and provide insightful reporting and robust planning and analysis to support and challenge decision making, and to connect the Board and senior leadership team with business performance.

We’re looking for someone who has a logical approach to support product oversight and governance and ensure value is delivered for our customers, whilst meeting regulatory requirements.

Job responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly Group ExCo reporting cycle to ensure it’s well managed, with clear timetables and monitoring of deliverables
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and reports for the Retail, Underwriting and Group divisions
  • High quality and insightful variance analysis and commentary for presentation to Directors, Senior Management and the Board
  • Provide appropriate challenge and support to the Finance business partnership team in order to deliver group forecasts and projections, which are challenging yet achievable
  • Support on all Finance-related Board and committee actions, ensuring suitable Finance team members provide responses on a timely basis
  • Accountable for monthly cash dashboard reporting, ensuring the cash projections are robust and delivered accurately and on a timely basis
  • Accountable for reporting and forecasting of cash position, including insightful commentary and analysis of performance
  • Be heavily involved with the integration of a reporting and planning system 
  • Lead the build of the Group cashflow model, including dividend and debt monitoring
  • Continuous improvement of existing financial planning processes to satisfy business requirements and support commercial decision making
  • Deputise for the Management Reporting Manager as and when required
  • Act as a mentor and coach to junior colleagues within the team

Skills, knowledge & experience
  • Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in management, reporting to Board level
  • Experience in leading a group-wide planning cycle
  • Significant experience within an insurance or financial services company 
  • Good understanding of the flow of money around an insurance group 
  • Leadership skills with the ability to motivate employees in a high-pressured environment
  • Commercially focused and willing to challenge information 
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic with an organised and proactive approach 
  • Takes responsibility for tasks and sees them through to completion with great attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
