We’re looking for someone to join our Corporate Governance, Risk and Control team as a Compliance Advisory Officer in either Salford Quays, Manchester, or Haywards Heath, West Sussex. Working with the Compliance Advisory Manager and Group Companies, you’ll help embed compliance and conduct risk management. Assisting, supporting and providing advice and guidance as per group policy and process, you’ll provide regulatory advice Group-wide, covering agreed aspects of FCA compliance, GFSC and Bailiwick of Guernsey jurisdictions. To be successful in this role, you’ll need to: have a proven track record in delivering advice and sign off to quality, quantity, time and cost restraints have a good grasp of compliance, risk and conduct current and emerging agenda within the jurisdictions that First Central operate have substantial understanding of financial services and the general insurance market and its standards Job responsibilities Support, advise, guide and challenge across the Group on compliance and conduct matters Maintain the regulatory papers log and assist in producing insightful reports and regulatory summaries as instructed by the Compliance Advisory Manager, including horizon scanning for emerging risks, rules and guidance Business partner with key stakeholders Provide timely and accurate Compliance sign off as instructed, such as financial promotions and customer journeys Assist in providing regulatory guidance to the incident management process as instructed Assist project teams (as allocated by the Compliance Advice Manager) within the Group with a view to ensuring that compliance considerations are identified and recorded from inception to delivery Provide advice to the business on the practical application of policies and other business standards Assist in the administration of regulatory documentation, reporting and submissions Comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times Skills, knowledge & experience Proven experience of compliance, risk and conducting current and emerging agenda within the jurisdictions in which First Central operate Credible practitioner with substantial understanding of financial services and the general insurance market with a proven track record of success (ideally in compliance and conduct role) Recognised compliance, audit or legal qualification is desirable Demonstrates ability and willingness to learn new disciplines quickly, including the regulatory agenda Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to communicate knowledge and expertise simply Good time management and organisation skills Influencing and negotiation skills with key stakeholders, and the ability to deliver difficult message when needed, articulating advice and consequences clearly and concisely What can we do for you?
