We’re on the lookout for a self-motivated, performance driven leader to become our Head of Claims Counter Fraud.
You’ll be responsible for the overall operational leadership to ensure optimum delivery of Claims Counter Fraud management services and to ensure the company operates and maintains a demonstrably effective, efficient and proportionate claims fraud strategy.
You’re be a natural at demonstrating leadership excellence to enable high performance working throughout the function and recommend/implement strategies to drive the business forward.

Job responsibilities
  • Maintain effective and efficient systems and controls to mitigate policy and claims fraud risks
  • Recommend strategies to the Counter Fraud Director which focus on driving the business forward and then ensure delivery against the agreed strategies
  • Provide a proactive approach to claims management to drive the right behaviours and improve claims results
  • Provide functional expertise to ensure that all suspected fraudulent claims are proactively managed to achieve agreed KPIs, SLAs and maximise the prevention of fraud losses, across all heads of damage
  • Strong leadership, performance management, mentoring and development of line reports, to include ensuring appropriate succession planning
  • Highly effective leadership of all department teams and resources
  • Create and ensure delivery against a departmental plan and objectives
  • Ensure the provision of daily and monthly operational counter fraud management information, to include for Board and Group reporting purposes
  • Ensure the department delivers a strong return on investment by maximising performance and effectiveness
  • Lead the budget setting and reforecasting process within the department and ensure that financial implications are considered for all initiatives
  • Monitor and report on the value attributed to external spend on the Insurance Fraud Bureau and counter-fraud suppliers, such as defendant law firms and investigators
Knowledge & experience
  • CII qualification (desired)
  • Operational leadership and management of teams within a private motor insurance environment
  • Operational leadership and management of teams within an application and contact centre environment
  • Strong proven experience in a senior insurance fraud role
  • Ability to design, develop, deploy and maintain fraud systems and controls
  • Experience of setting budgets and managing them effectively
  • Detailed understanding of reserving and claims cost management
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policy and claims fraud (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge of all aspects of motor claims management, including a detailed understanding of credit hire and the credit repair market
