 We currently have an amazing opportunity for a Digital Learning Design Specialist to join our fun and friendly Learning & Development (L&D) team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex or Salford Quays, Manchester.

As a Digital Learning Design Specialist, you’ll design, deliver and evaluate high-quality, interactive learning solutions. Utilising a variety of multimedia, including video, animation and gamification, you’ll ensure our learning feels fresh, modern and current for all colleagues.
No two days are the same here – you’ll work on a project-to-project basis, creating engaging learning activities and fascinating course content for new and existing in-house colleagues, deploying innovative and creative digital learning solutions. It’s a busy and rewarding role!

Job responsibilities
  • Work between the development and design of materials to create engaging and captivating education for both customer-facing colleagues and leaders in order to drive new knowledge, skills and behaviours
  • Create and design digital learning that enables a truly blended approach on a range of topics in a variety of formats and accessible from a range of devices e.g. short videos, e-learning modules, interactive presentations, digital-based assessment activities, video content, narration, voice over and graphics
  • Design and develop supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, games etc), guides and training manuals, engaging instructional graphics, assessment tools (such as tests or quizzes), to measure the effectiveness of the course
  • Work with other teams and key stakeholders to develop impactful and interactive learning experiences, ensuring all learning materials deliver the needs of the business
  • Set instructional end goals, adapt content and test all developed solutions
  • Use authoring tools such as GOMO and Adobe Captivate/Articulate Storyline to develop our in-house instructional learning while keeping up to date with new authoring tool developments
  • Partner with team members and end users to evaluate, test and recommend content development tools or other learning technology solutions to continually unlock value
  • Champion the development of digital learning skills and capabilities throughout the L&D team, ensuring members keep abreast of developments of external and internal best practice
  • Proactively manage own scope of work, including identification of dependencies and suggesting improvements on an ongoing basis

Skills, knowledge & experience
  • Certificate in Learning & Development or alternative training qualification is essential
  • Accreditation/qualification in high level Instructional/Blended Learning Design is preferred
  • Social media or knowledge management experience
  • Understanding of modern learning concepts – how people learn and Instructional Design methodology
  • Knowledge of scripting and storyboarding learning solutions
  • Experience of Adobe Creative Suite (or similar) to create e-learning packages (including HTML5), video-based learning, animations, games/simulations, podcasts etc
  • Experience of creating true virtual classroom environments using Adobe Connect or similar
  • Experience of on/offline e-learning authoring tools, such as GOMO, Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate
  • Experience in graphic design is preferred
  • An innovative, problem-solving mindset
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation and collaborative communication skills
  • Emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of FCA requirements (including Treating Customers Fairly) and the regulatory framework relating to general insurance
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work on own initiative
  • Passionate about learning to support next generation digital learning methods
