You’ll be responsible for implementing the internal communications plan, including creating timely, targeted and compelling content to ensure colleagues feel informed and motivated. You'll help shape internal communications activities and utilise different channels to deliver impactful communications.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:

  • Be educated to degree level, with qualifications in English, business or communications being preferable

  • Have demonstrable first-class experience in drafting, proof-reading and editing skills, and be able to write and produce compelling and engaging content under pressure and at short notice, while maintaining strong attention to detail

  • Be a driven individual with strong relationship building skills who can manage partnerships at all levels

Job responsibilities:

  • Provide proactive support to the Internal Communications team to deliver a comprehensive communications strategy and plan
  • Support the implementation of the overall communication plan including building effective relationships with internal teams to help drive engagement, educate and inspire colleagues
  • Write, edit and proof copy across all channels, including email, intranet and our weekly newsletter, ensuring that it’s appropriate for the channel and in line with our brand and tone of voice
  • Support with planning and managing internal events, including both company-wide and regional events that support the overall communication plans and product launches
  • You may also work  on a range of projects and initiatives ranging from employee programs, culture and ESG initiatives through to IT/regulatory/business change projects.
  • Create and maintain processes that reflect the culture, protect the company in terms of insurance/health and safety/PR and report back on all ROI
  • Review and report on the effectiveness of internal communication channels
  • Assist with compiling and designing presentations
  • Support with managing relationships with local community partners
  • Provide support to the Culture and Engagement team as and when required
  • Own local ticket allocation processes
  • Support with outreach activity to provide a calendar of local volunteering opportunities and monitor attendance

Job-specific competencies

Experience & knowledge

  • Strong knowledge and background in an internal communications role
  • Educated to degree level, qualifications in English, business or communications preferable
  • Good understanding of Adobe Creative Suite and working knowledge of Sharepoint

Skills & Qualifications 

  • Excellent creative written and spoken skills and feel confident writing for a variety of audiences.
  • Strong proof-reading and editing skills, with the ability to write and produce compelling and engaging content under pressure and at short notice, while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Highly organised and proactive - able to juggle and prioritise a busy workload
  • Professional and calm under pressure
  • Good project management skills
