We’re on the hunt for a talented Enterprise Data Architect contractor to join our Technology and Data team based in either Salford Quays, Manchester, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, or our offices in Guernsey. 

Our Architecture team is engaged in an exciting Cloud Data Transformation Programme. We are looking for an Enterprise Data Architect (EDA) to define and govern the platform architecture and support design, build and delivery. The EDA is responsible for the definition of the Architecture and technical roadmap for the Cloud Data Platform along with supporting the definition of target operating models, service delivery, and associated migration/decommissioning.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:

  • Must have experience in BI, data analytics or data science within the Azure platform
  • A solid understanding of data management principles, industry best practices, data standards and detailed expertise in at least one industry recognised data management framework.
  • Proven track record designing and delivering data transformation programmes. Comfortable with both big picture thinking and lower level technology solutions

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead and co-ordinate the architectural effort that informs the Data Transformation Programme implementation, ensuring proposed solutions are aligned to priorities driven by business value and that the project remains cognisant of enterprise-wide dependencies.
  • Support the design of process and operating model changes required to deliver and change the data platform Business and Technology roadmap creation and management including standards and governance.
  • Provide specialist Architectural and Technical consultancy to support the programme. This will include: attending meetings, workshops, engaging with other members of the project team, Governance review of delivered items in line with the documented design and standards and Azure data services technical best practice.
  • Ensure alignment of all architectural output to the agreed architecture, communicate any need to deviate to the Technical Design Authority.
  • Provision consultancy services that inform analysis, design, and delivery activities of wider programme objectives, protecting the budgeted benefits and informing foundational work to build future capability.
  • Create architectural artefacts for use in the communication with senior stakeholders.
  • Analysis of business requirements and support in their identification and refinement Provide quality assurance and advisory services (drawing on previous experience of projects and programmes of this nature) to all project stakeholders as required.
  • Critical assessment of current state architecture to identify and document areas of technical change/transition architectures required within First Central’s Enterprise to support those requirements.
  • Production of High-level architecture and lower level design documentation of required technical changes.
  • Estimation of delivery effort (documented) broken down by technical deliverable.
  • Technical review of 3rd party suppliers including functional and suitability when compared to First-Central’s documented standards.
  • Formal handover of Architecture to internal Architecture Team at the end of the engagement deliverables and promote reuse.
  • Experience of developing board level financial proposals, presentations and business cases that clearly outline how data value can be quantified.
  • Strong business and data analysis.
  • Knowledge and expertise in enterprise architecture and IT service delivery frameworks.
