Fancy a new career in a fast-paced and dynamic workplace? If so, this could be your lucky day! We’re looking for a Resilience Analyst to join our Technologhy team in Salford Quays, Manchester, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, or our offices in Guernsey on a hybrid work pattern. 

With responsibility for managing, coordinating and developing both Business Continuity (BC) and Operational Resilience processes, you'll undertake regular meetings with the working group, important business service (IBS) owners and remediating action owners, in addition to coordinating and delivering annual exerises and maintaining the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) ensuring it remains fit for purpose in an ever changing and growing business. Acting as an Incident Management Team (IMT) and Crisis Management Team (CMT) coordinator, you'll deliver training to these teams and complete third-party reviews in line with the third-party process.   

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:

  • demonstrate Business Continuity experience at an appropriate level

  • have experience in review and redesign of complex cross departmental processes, risks and controls

  • hold certification in CBCI or MBCI qualification

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop all Business Continuity Plans and Business Impact Assessments in line with FCA Operational Resilience guidance on Important Business Services and setting Impact Tolerances.

  • Design and deliver annual simulation exercises, desktop exercises, Operational Resilience scenario tests and third-party rehearsals, which include the Crisis Management Team (CMT), Strategic Team (ST) and Major Incident Management Team.

  • Maintain appropriate BC, Crisis Management (CM) and Operational Resilience reporting and dashboards as per the Resilience Team’s requirements, regularly assisting with the review of all plans for suitability and effectiveness.

  • Operational Resilience Coordinator for working group sessions, IBS owner meetings and remediation action owner meetings.

  • Support the business to identify new IBS’s, set impact tolerances, map the services, and identify vulnerabilities.

  • Complete an annual self-assessment in line with Operational Resilience requirements and prepare Board reporting.

  • Complete annual reviews of third parties, in line with the third-party schedule, including review of their BCMS, plans and policies and assessing the suitability of their business continuity arrangements as appropriate for the contract with First Central.

  • Support third party owners with RFP processes for new potential third parties by reviewing documentation, providing feedback, and giving guidance on any additional requirements prior to contract agreements.

  • Collaborate with third party owners to ensure delivery of detailed third-party reviews which identify any concerns, weaknesses or additional requirements and remedy as necessary.

  • Review and update Pillar Plans to ensure any impacts or concerns are reflected and appropriately planned for.

  • IM and CM Coordinator for all Incident Management Team (IMT) and Crisis Management Team (CMT) meetings, ensuring they are managed consistently in line with the IM Process and provide administration support, including Tracker, stage documents and appraisal.

  • Manage and maintain robust IMT files, including stage and appraisal forms, evidence, trackers and communications and Lead fortnightly Incident Review Meetings.

  • Deliver training to colleagues with BC, CM and IM responsibilities and maintain the training log.

  • Promote BC and IM within the business, continually raising awareness of our processes, plans and tools.

  • Attend relevant meetings, including the delivery of training and deputising for the Business Continuity Leaders when necessary.

Job Specific Competencies:

Experience & Skills

  • Experience in Business Continuity or Operational Resilience is desirable

  • Planning and delivery of a complex Simulation Exercise

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • Influencing and negotiation skills at a senior level

  • Presentation skills

  • Good time management and organisation skills

  • Ability to adopt a logical approach to solving problems

  • Resilient to challenge for senior levels whilst building and maintaining relationships


  • Attend appropriate external forums and events to continually develop the knowledge of the BC Team and network with other BC Professionals.

  • Good understanding of all First Central departments particularly focussed Core Processes

  • Solid understanding of FCA, FSC and ICO rules, regulations, principles and codes of practice

  • Good understanding of ISO22301 and ISO27001
