We’re all busy people these days and sometimes you don’t have time to fire up the laptop and answer lots of interrogating questions. Plus there’s the added factor that most of us now have a smartphone that enables us to do much more.
We want to make it easy for you to apply for a job with us. That’s why we’ve worked hard to make our website mobile friendly.
Let’s face it, most of us will search for a job on the bus home after a bad day at work, or in a boring meeting with Clive from Accounts, so your phone is a useful tool in your job search.
For job applications by email
Email a copy of your CV to yourself and save it in your inbox, so it’s readily available for you to email to a prospective employer. Then you can write your cover letter in the body of the email. Set up a signature on your emails to look extra professional and ensure the employer can contact you easily to arrange the all-important interview.
Don’t forget to download the LinkedIn app to your phone. This allows you to search for jobs and link in with the companies you’d like to work for. Some jobs also have a 'LinkedIn Easy Apply' button.
Facebook has also recently entered into the jobs market. You can search for jobs that match your experience and preferences and set up alerts. When you apply for a job through Facebook, it has a section to upload a photo of your CV. So take a snap of your up-to-date CV and save it in your image library, ready to upload it with just a click.
Apps like Glassdoor have an ‘easy apply’ option, which allows you to upload your CV in advance and apply for jobs in a few simple clicks.
Most companies have a website detailing what they do and why they’re the best. So don’t forget to do your research on prospective employers by having a look at their website. You’ll stand out from the crowd if you know how long they’ve been around and what awards they’ve won.
