We have a fantastic new opportunity for a Fraud Recovery Handler to join our talented Counter Fraud Services team in either Haywards Heath, West Sussex, or Salford Quays, Manchester. 

Looking to expand your career and enhance your technical skills? This could be the role for you! We’re looking for an individual with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, having potentially previously worked in a fraud and recovery team.  The main focus of this new role is to recover all outlays and fees incurred on repudiated claims within the Counter Fraud Services (CFS) team.
Job responsibilities
  • To investigate and manage potential fraud risks and fraud recovery cases with a view of protecting the business, identifying fraud and pursuing all costs incurred by the business, including exemplary damages where appropriate
  • Handle a personal caseload of potential fraud risks and fraud recoveries in accordance with department SLAs, FCA regulations, and legislative and policy guidelines
  • Caseload to include desktop handling, with direct interaction with policyholders, third parties and witnesses; extending to incorporate telephone-based interviews and written communications, as well as the appointment of external specialists to include investigators, law firms and motor engineers
  • Produce high quality written reports and advice for the business
  • Provide advice and support to business areas with regards to potential fraud risks and fraud recovery opportunities
  • To instruct panel litigators to issue tort of deceit, tort of conspiracy legal proceedings and control panel to provide us with the best recovery outcomes
  • To conduct asset checking, identification and reporting against defendants (third parties) and to ensure evidence is collated in accordance with legal requirements and governance
  • To instruct, advise and control assets recovery specialist and high court enforcement agencies, in order to recover assets against defendants
  • To instruct, advise and control recovery alternatives where payment of due monies is not forthcoming, such as charging orders against salary and/or residence or business premises
Skills, knowledge & experience
  • Strong motor claims and policy experience
  • Proven track record in investigating fraud risks impacting on a motor insurer
  • Proven experience in claims recovery or debt recovery
  • Desirable experience with complex fraud recovery, including experience with tort of deceit, tort of conspiracy, assets intelligence and recovery applications i.e. charging orders
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
  • Multi-lingual desirable
  • Good time management and organisation skills with the ability to prioritise work
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adopt a logical approach to resolving problems
  • Desktop fraud investigation, to include telephone interviews
  • Appointment and management of external fraud service providers
