Are you an experienced content executive bursting with creative ideas and a passion for engaging a variety of audiences through content?

If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior External Content Executive to join our talented Commercial & Marketing team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex on an 18-month maternity cover contract.

The successful candidate will need to create, enhance, disseminate and audit a wide range of content, whilst ensuring all communication helps to connect with customers, colleagues and the communities where we operate.
You’ll be a subject matter expert within the business and ensure all content positively reflects the brand, while writing to a high standard and championing brand tone of voice, thinking laterally to drive consistency.

We’re looking for someone who’ll proactively seek ways to support and deliver a variety of initiatives that result in greater reassurance, enhanced integrity and contribution to the 5-year business plan.
Job responsibilities
  • Create and publish inspiring, relevant, timely and up-to-date content across all social media platforms and websites within the group
  • Maintain and evolve social media style guidelines, support training sessions and guide auditing
  • Support customer communication across all mediums as required (emails, 1ST CENTRAL website, IVR, web chat, etc)
  • Provide stories for the customer newsletter
  • Respond to media issues / crisis communication for First Central’s businesses when necessary; working alongside the team to protect brand reputation 
  • Support media monitoring
  • Help to manage agency relationships e.g. PR and content marketing
  • Ensure consistent adherence to First Central’s brand tone of voice and act as a subject matter expert
  • Help to develop and maintain a self-serve depository of company credentials
  • Write and support the submission of award entries as required
  • Build upon sponsorship opportunities to create compelling stories
  • Act as a key contact for leaders joining the business; supporting external announcements and profiling as part of the onboarding process
Skills, knowledge & experience
  • Extensive experience of writing engaging and compelling content for a variety of audiences and marketing channels
  • Previous media relations experience with a good understanding of the UK media
  • Bachelor's degree with a focus in Marketing, Journalism or related field (II.I or above)
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (desirable)
  • Ability to develop and maintain tone of voice brand guidelines (experience with Frontify or similar is desirable)
  • Previous experience working in Financial Services (desirable)
  • Proven ability to work under pressure to manage fast-moving issues and deliver to tight deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Bursting with brilliant ideas and a track record in turning ideas from concept into reality
  • Able to juggle the big picture with strategic / critical thinking
  • Up-to-date knowledge of latest brand techniques
  • An understanding of the high-level requirements of working in a regulated industry (e.g. FCA)
