We’re on the hunt for experienced Business Analysts to join us in our new Value Stream Business Analyst roles where you’ll be responsible for leveraging analytical techniques to understand and translate value stream needs into clear, concise and testable requirements.   

 

You’ll work closely with the Value Stream Product Owner in the generation and management of the backlog, facilitating communication and collaboration between stakeholders and engineers and will support change end-to-end, from definition and impact assessment through to execution, delivery and business readiness. 

 

We value flexible working arrangements, so you can choose to work remotely or maybe you live within a commutable distance from one of our offices in Salford Quays, Manchester, Haywards Heath, West Sussex, or Guernsey, and want to work in the office occasionally.

  What’s involved: 

  • You’ll support the Head of Value Stream in the creation and management of the Value Stream Roadmap 

  • You’ll collaborate with stakeholders and business consultants to understand their needs and translate them into clear, concise, and testable backlog items  

  • You’ll support the definition of change, including benefit analysis, impact assessment and risk analysis 

  • You’ll analyse business problems and opportunities, identifying areas for improvement and defining success measures 

  • You’ll map out and document business processes, identifying areas for improvement in process models 

  • You’ll facilitate communication and collaboration between stakeholders, product owners, and engineering teams 

  • You’ll participate in sprint planning, daily standups and all other ceremonies 

  • You’ll support the Value Stream Product Owner in the definition and management of the Product Roadmap 

  • You’ll support the Value Stream Product Owner in the refinement and prioritisation of the backlogs, breaking down work ready for iterative development and value delivery 

  • You'll support the Value Stream Product Owner in the maintenance of the backlogs, ensuring it reflects the evolving needs of the Value Stream 

  • You’ll create user stories and acceptance criteria 

  • You'll support engineers and test-engineers in user story understanding, supporting decomposition of user stories into tasks and their estimation and ensure solutions meet the business need 

  • You’ll use business analysis documentation techniques to support team understanding, including use cases, wireframes, flow documents etc 

  • You’ll instigate, prepare, facilitate and lead meetings, workshops and presentations for a wide range of audiences, demonstrating consistently high qualities of communication and strong powers of influence  

  • You’ll collaborate with Value Stream team members to ready work ahead of PI Planning events 

  • You’ll contribute to the setting of standards and processes for the Business Consultancy & Analysis Community of Practice and ensure these are adhered to and best practice is followed to support a fully agile change and development environment.  

  • You’ll identify and support the work required to ensure the adoption and roll-out of change 

  • You’ll comply with the requirements, and act in accordance with, the Group Code of Conduct and Fitness and Propriety policies at all times 

  • You’ll ensure compliance with Company Policies, Values and guidelines and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times 

 

Experience & Knowledge 

 

  • Ability to quickly understand the objectives, structures, operations and policies of a business area 

  • Ability to quickly understand the capabilities and roadmap of a product group and how those capabilities are leveraged to deliver business value 

  • Experience of solution delivery using cloud components 

  • Demonstrated ability to engage both engineers and stakeholders to achieve target outcomes. 

  • Knowledge of business process management, workflow and integration methods and tools 

  • Demonstrable understanding of a range of Business Analysis and Change Management tools and techniques 

  • Proven experience of applying business analysis within an iterative and Agile change framework aligned to Value Streams within close engineering collaboration 

  • Experience in selecting and executing elicitation and documentation techniques such as Interviews, Exploratory Prototypes, Facilitated Workshops, Focus Groups, Observation, User Task Analysis, Wireframing, Documentation study and Surveys 

  • Experienced in facilitating change within a value stream setting, to include defining/re-engineering existing and new processes as well as the development of new services and products 

  • Experienced at building relationships with and managing internal and external stakeholders 

  • Ideally an insurance or financial Services background, although other backgrounds will be considered 

  • Knowledge of FCA requirements (including Consumer Duty) 

  • Significant experience in Business Analysis

Qualifications 

  • Business Analysis and/or Business Architecture certification/formal qualification is preferred
