We have an exciting brand-new opportunity for an Early Careers Officer to join our People team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex, or Salford Quays, Manchester on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

We’re looking for someone who’ll play a vital part in the setting up of our new Graduate and Apprenticeship programme. You’ll support the People Team to create an engaging and emerging talent community for the business, working closely with the recruitment team and Learning and Development to coordinate the company’s graduate and apprenticeship strategies with supporting the onboarding and ongoing development throughout their programmes. 

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to:
 
  • Have experience in managing and implementing innovative projects across a range of learning and development projects, size and type
  • Be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Have an excellent understanding of Apprenticeship funding criteria and able to give advice on Levy spending
  • Be Self-driven with a passion for developing talent

Job responsibilities
 
  • Build excellent relationships with the graduate and apprentice community, our business stakeholders, Recruitment, HR and Learning and Development teams
  • Support the People pillar with organisational needs analysis and coordinate design / development to support pillar needs
  • Act as the first point of contact for all graduate and apprenticeship queries and questions
  • Support line managers with the development of all new apprenticeship opportunities and promote our ‘think apprentice’ to internal development
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships and maximise all opportunities for uptake of Graduate/Apprenticeship starts
  • Coordinate training support and working with external key suppliers to ensure colleagues have the best possible experience whilst on their programme
  • Support Managers who take on Graduates/Apprentices with information, advice and guidance where appropriate
  • Oversee the provision of mentoring for Graduates and Apprentices
  • Support development plans for the progression of Graduates and Apprentices following their study journey
  • Work with Internal Communications to promote available apprenticeship study schemes
  • Source appropriate training programmes for Graduate/Apprenticeship posts, select quality providers that meet the businesses requirements
  • Facilitate to ensure Graduates/Apprentices receive the relevant support and guidance to progress on completion of their apprenticeship programme

Skills, knowledge & experience
 
  • Experience of managing and implementing innovative projects across a range of learning and development projects, size and type
  • Be comfortable working with senior stakeholders and have excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Experience of understanding return on investment, learning needs, translating into successful solutions and evaluation
  • Excellent understanding of Apprenticeship funding criteria and able to give advice on Levy spending
  • Competent with a range of learning systems including LMS and Apprenticeship funding systems – (DAS)·
  • Self-driven with a passion for developing talent
  • Strong communicative and collaboration skills
  • Values the contributions of others by welcoming an open exchange of ideas and views
  • Displays enthusiasm, accountability, commitment and sense of purpose in interactions with customers and colleagues
  • Self- motivated, forward-thinking with an organised and pro-active approach
  • Takes initiative for decisions and to makes things happen
