We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Commercial Executive - Premium Finance to join our Marketing team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex

In this role you will support First Central with all activities relating to the delivery of the Premium Finance product.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering a Premium Finance proposition that delivers commercial value to the business whilst meeting the demands and needs of our customers. The role will require working closely with our debt collection agency panel ensuring we maximise collections performance and maintain fair customer outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

  • Experience of credit control, lending and consumer collections
  • Good time management and organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail

Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer the transfer of outstanding insurance premium debt to a panel of debt collection agencies (DCA) and manage ongoing operational interactions with the suppliers
  • Assist with all elements of the outsourcing of debt to DCAs including but not limited to: account for funds collected by debt collection agencies, account for write offs and deal with the administration
  • Review daily aged debt report to check integrity of debt to be collected
  • Process manual journals to reconcile the company system
  • Answer queries received by emails from DCA’s and other departments within agreed service level agreements (SLA).
  • Ensure correct levels of controls are implemented and maintained throughout the department
  • Plan and allocate daily workloads with team members to meet SLA agreements.
  • Identify and implement Premium Finance process / system improvements to drive commercial performance and improve customer journey and outcomes
  • Perform regular reviews with DCA suppliers to identify opportunities for improvement and assess adherence to SLAs and operational standards
  • Ongoing assessment of a DCA’s ability to deliver, developing time bound, consequence driven action plans to drive remediation with the aim of achieving flawless operational delivery and regulatory adherence
  • Manage the operational performance and SLA delivery of DCA panel member/s
  • Produce regular performance packs giving oversight of delivery of the premium finance product to Premium finance and relevant business committees
  • Ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/regulations at all times in particular FCA CONC requirements and TCF
  • Maintain accurate and up to date Process Notes
  • Undertake project work as required including system testing
  • Any other duties as reasonably required

Job Specific Competencies:


  • Experience of credit control, lending and consumer collections
  • Experience in general insurance desirable
  • Great track record of working to deadlines
  • Strong stakeholder management experience within a fast paced, highly regulated environment


  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organisation skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Problem solving skills, with the ability to identify problems and adopt a logical approach to resolving problems
  • Strong influence and persuasion skills with the ability to overcome objections
  • Excellent knowledge of the MS Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint
  • Good numeracy
  • Self-motivated and able to self-direct
  • Attention to detail


  • Solid understanding of credit control principals
  • Knowledge of accounting processes and systems
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements (including CONC and TCF) and company principles following appropriate training
