We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Technical Pricing Analyst to join our Underwriting team in our Gibraltar Office.

In this role you’ll provide analysis, insight and competitive advantage to the company by producing analysis and reports which maximise profitability. You will produce key company reports to the Head of Technical Pricing, write reports solving key company questions as well as learning industry analysis techniques along with the SAS software.

Core skills we’re looking for to succeed in the role:

  • Degree (minimum 2:1) or equivalent in the Actuarial, Mathematical or Statistical field
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to adopt a logical approach to solving problems
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Nice to have skills, but optional:

  • Experience of SAS, Emblem, Excel, Radar and advanced statistical techniques
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and well organised

What’s Involved

  • Production of key business analysis reports
  • Ad hoc project work researching and providing analysis to motor function
  • Maintenance of analysis programs and models written in SAS software and using relevant WTW software packages
  • Writing new analysis code using SAS software
  • Presenting results in SAS server, Excel and written reports
  • Production of findings in a clear and logical manner
  • Positive manner with ability to communicate well with all colleagues and stakeholders
  • To ensure compliance with company and other relevant standards/ regulations at all times
  • Any other reasonable duties as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2:1 in a mathematical or statistical based degree

Skills

  • Some experience of SAS, Excel and statistical techniques an advantage
  • Excellent data and statistical analysis skills
  • Strong IT skills (including Excel and ideally SAS)
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Good time management and organisation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to adopt a logical approach to solving problems
  • Strong numerical skills

Knowledge

  • Good knowledge of motor insurance products and the motor insurance industry after appropriate training
  • Solid understanding of the business objectives and operations
