We’re on the hunt for a talented Group Forecasting and Planning Manager to join our Finance team in Haywards Heath, West Sussex.  Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team plays a crucial role by performing budgeting, forecasting and analysis that supports major decision making. As Group Forecasting and Planning Manager, you’ll create, lead and take responsibility for the development of the financial five-year plan, annual budget and quarterly forecasts across the group including entity views.
With responsible for all outputs to ExCo and board on financial plans and for telling the story behind the numbers, you’ll provide insightful analysis to the business to facilitate performance challenge and identify areas of improvement.
Covering all aspects including P&L, cash flow, balance sheet and solvency, you’ll lead a team co-ordinating the timetabling and you’ll have a broad skillset, including stakeholder management at multiple levels, commercial acumen, problem solving, presentational skills and change management.
 To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have:
  •  An accountant qualification, such as ACA, CIMA or ACCA and degree educated
  • Extensive PQE, ideally within the insurance industry
  • Significant FP&A experience at a senior level
Job responsibilities
  • Understands business strategy, ability to tell the story linking to the financial numbers, developing understanding and knowledge of key business performance (KPIs) drivers
  • Add value through support and challenge of the business through financial insight
  • Create excellent relationships with key stakeholders across the business and with the CFO and pillar business partner teams
  • Create, coordinate and manage the annual and quarterly timetables and process to create the annual five-year financial plan, annual budget and quarterly forecasts
  • Streamline the planning processes to facilitate more time for analysis and scenario testing of the plans
  • Review and benchmark core KPIs externally
  • Liaison with the pillar business partner to gather revenue assumptions to support the budgets and forecast
  • Oversee the development of the revenue and group consolidation models within TM1 system
  • Engage with the Regulatory team to ensure solvency and ORSA creation is integrated on the planning timetable and linked into the wider forecast or budget process
  • Ensure robust controls are implemented and evidenced across all planning models
Skills, knowledge & experience
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) with extensive PQE, ideally within the insurance industry
  • Strategic thinker and ability to look at the bigger picture
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to communicate and appropriately challenge senior management
  • Commercially aware and focused
  • Excellent planning, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Driven, pro-active, self-starter and enthusiastic
  • Team player and ability to forge relationships at all levels within the organisation
  • Deadline driven, strong analytical skills with an eye on details, willingness to roll up sleeves and get involved in the detail
